Here's a quick look at some of the editing features in Pixel Art Lighter.
The tool will be fully free and open source!
Very cool
Are there any tools for painting, or rather, “sculpting” normals onto an image manually? I hand paint most of my normal maps so anything that could speed up that process without outright automating it (since that’s usually not suitable for larger geometry) would be amazing
Yes there is a wand, pencil and marquee tool. You dont paint normals, you paint pixel selections and control their normal facing angle.
Works with a tablet!
Looking forward to it with intensity
Working as fast as i can!
When can I try it?😋
Still needs some time. Its all written in Javascript atm which is more simple but has some performance drawbacks.
Needs more testing to see if it'll suffice. 🙏
Can the same lighting setup be applied across a whole sprite sheet?
Yes it uses the same logic on the entire image. Ive tested it with character animation spritesheets and the results are consistent.
Edits on sheets are a bit trickier depending on the type of edits required.
This tool looks useful. 😎
a free open source pixel editor with that editing flow is the dream toolkit. Imp already wants to poke at the brush stack for an hour
Really looking forward to this!! We'll absolutely use it on Little Crossroads!
Free and open source is the rare pixel art tool pitch where the price tag matches the palette budget.
